The New Brookfields hotel boasts a rich history. During the colonial period, newly arriving British administrators and other staff stayed in an area called the “Transit Camp” before more long-term accommodation could be arranged. After independence, it became the Brookfields Hotel.
For a short period during the Civil War it was the HQ of the rebels. Post conflict New Brookfields lead the way in comfort and accommodation playing a major part in the future of the tourism industry in Sierra Leone.
New Brookfields has always been a focal point for culture and business in Sierra leone. From the 1950’s to the 1990’s it was renowned for its parties and famous faces.
Now in 2020 New Brookfields the Hill top hotel group a sierra leone based company has transformed New Brookfields into the Icon of Freetown it has become.
